5 Lake Guntersville Area Restaurants not to be Missed

50 Taters

While it's a crazy name, the food is awesome, the portions are big and the price is very reasonable.  Where did the name come from?  The potatoes are huge and come 50 to a sack so...

There are as many as 5 daily specials and a wide variety of menu items.  If Braised Beef or Pork Shank are on the special list they are not to be missed!  All menu items are great, from burgers to steak and everything in between.

David & Edna's pick: Braised Beef special or a Tater Burger with sweet potato fries.

50 Taters is open 7 days a week but only for lunch on Sunday & Monday.

Papa Dubi's

A local Cajun favorite that offers much more on their menu.  The locals eat there regularly and always get a great meal!

If you like appetizers, the fried green beans are awesome and the fried mushrooms are to die for!  Their Cajun Sampler gives you the opportunity to try 3 different dishes, the Po Boy's are authentic and if you like bread pudding, well...

Oh and if you're a beer lover, they not only offer "standard" beer choices but also a selection from Guntersville's local craft brewery The Main Channel.  Check out the flight of beer where you can sample smaller sizes of several different beers.

David & Edna's pick: coconut shrimp and grilled chicken wrap

Papa Dubi's is open Tuesday - Sunday (lunch only on Sunday).

If seafood is your thing Wintzell's is the place!  Their original location is in south Alabama at the Gulf of Mexico and they have the freshest seafood around.

They also have a bar as well as a dock so you can pull up in your boat for either lunch or dinner.

Top O' The River

Top O' The River is one of the area's most frequented restaurants.  Most known for their catfish served about any way, they also offer everything from chicken fingers to steak.  Everyone gets fresh cornbread in a cast iron skillet, coleslaw and onions.  Don't fill up on these goodies or you'll be sorry.

The restaurant is very large but don't let that fool you.  On a weekend night or holiday you better get there early because guests have been known to wait as long as 2 hours for a table and they do not take reservations.

Top O' The River also has a dock if you're on the boat.  It's a great place to enjoy views of the lake while eating lunch (Sunday only) or dinner.

David & Edna's pick: River Boat Special and Fried Chicken Finger dinner.

They are open Monday - Friday at 5:00, Saturday at 4:00 and Sunday at 12:00.
